From Esposoma to the Role of Gut Microbiota: Discover Our Current Focus
Fit4Medrob
The aim of Fit for Medical Robotics is to revolutionize the current rehabilitation and care models for individuals with impaired motor, sensory, or cognitive functions. This will be achieved through innovative (bio)robotic and related digital technologies, as well as continuity of care paradigms that can leverage these new technologies in all stages of the rehabilitation process, from prevention to home care during the chronic phase. This research is funded by Ministry of University and Research.
Rehyb
The objective of the study is to develop a modular, hybrid device adaptable to every specific patient condition. It provides needs-based care and maximizes the efficiency of training both in the hospital and during rehabilitation at home using serious gaming.
Fesleg - Fesbike
The aim of the research is to develop rehabilitation and sport paradigms that involve the lower limbs, combining Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) with powered exoskeleton-assisted walking (FES-Leg) and pedaling (FES-Bike). This project was funded by Istituto Nazionale per l’Assicurazione contro gli Infortuni sul Lavoro (INAIL).
Profil
The research aims to explore the potential of Additive Manufacturing (AM), particularly those based on the use of polymeric composite materials (particulate, short, and long fiber), in the production of prostheses and prosthetic aids for patients who have undergone lower limb amputation. This project was funded by Istituto Nazionale per l’Assicurazione contro gli Infortuni sul Lavoro (INAIL).
Gut Microbiota
The aim of the study is to identify factors that influence the prognosis of ischemic stroke patients by investigating genetic factors and variations in the composition of the gut microbiota. The research also aims to determine how these factors affect post-stroke functional recovery by correlating them with clinical scales established in accordance with the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). This project was funded by Fondazione Valduce.
ActivE 3
The purpose of the project is to address the determinants of the lack of activity and/or inclusion, where the technological element becomes a factor capable of overcoming the barriers to inclusive motor practice and promoting an active lifestyle for everyone. This project is funded by Fondazione Cariplo.
Espertamente
This project will constitute a Proof of Concept (POC) of how it is possible to measure the effects that exposome has on the recovery and maintenance of psychophysical conditions of post-stroke patients of all ages, as well as on the overall state of well-being of these individuals and their caregivers. It is intended to generate experience useful for subsequent definitions of a replicable model for the establishment of gold standards and socioeconomic and health organization studies in rehabilitation medicine. The study will allow investigating correlations between exposome-biodiversity and neurobiological condition of subjects in an innovative way contributing to the quantification and qualification of human functioning and multiple personalized and precision medicine approaches.
