- Led by Matteo Parsani, an Italian professor in Applied Mathematics and Computational Science at KAUST (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology), this is a first-of-its-kind hand cycle tour across Saudi Arabia, traveling from East to West, covering over 3000 kilometers of challenging terrain.
- Villa Beretta Rehabilitation Research Innovation Institute plays an important role in this amazing challenge. Indeed, our Clinical Director, Franco Molteni, was the one who assisted Professor Matteo Parsani in his rehabilitation program after a car accident in 2017 left him with an incomplete spinal cord injury.
- Moreover, Dr. Molteni and his staff will be monitoring Matteo Parsani during his challenge by analyzing all the biological data that will be gathered through an exceptional set of hashtag #technologies. A human-body (HBC) communication sensor, 3D-printed patches, and a smart helmet that monitors blood oxygen, heart rate, body temperature, and much more.
