Professor Cristina Becchio’s research at the University Medical Center Hamburg–Eppendorf explores the link between cognitive processes and movement, using motion capture technology to analyze how movement patterns can reveal mental states and decision-making. Her findings indicate that healthy individuals can plan movements several steps ahead and highlight the potential of movement analysis in tracking rehabilitation progress through unique “kinematic fingerprints”. The inaugural episode of the ABDUCTIVE REASONING LECTURES by VBRRII will focus on the implications of this research for Rehabilitation Medicine, particularly for patients with neurological impairments.
