August 30, 2023 – What are the applications of Functional Electrical Stimulation in rehabilitation? How does ethics apply to rehabilitation? These are the topics that will be discussed during the 10th module of the Master RehabTech, which will resume on Saturday, September 16, and come to an end in April 2024.

  • The Master RehabTech aims to unite all individuals working in rehabilitation, including those from diverse scientific backgrounds, in order to develop a shared interdisciplinary profile that reflects the complexity of rehabilitative medicine. It is an incredible opportunity for continuing education offered by Politecnico di Milano in collaboration with several partners, including Ospedale Valduce, the Italian National Research Council, and the Istituto of Biorobotica at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, among others.
  • Through multiple assignments over the months, the master seeks to accelerate the integration of various technologies (such as robotics, extended reality, AI, neuroprosthetics, telemedicine, and others) into the lives of patients, their families, and the clinical professions.
  •  “A background in technology is essential for fostering high-level research within the institutions you work in, to allow the continuing of care over an extended period of time, and to promote a productive debates where different viewpoints converge to find the most successful solutions for patients,” says Alessandra Pedrocchi, a professor of Electronic Bioengineering at the Department of Electronics Information and Bioengineering, Politecnico di Milano, and the director of the Master RehabTech.
  •  “Moreover, being able to explain how and why you use technology in rehabilitative intervention is important for maintaining a strong human connection with patients and within the team” adds Dr. Franco Molteni, Clinical Director of Villa Beretta Rehabilitation Research Innovation Institute and one of the co-directors of the Master.
